Why would I have to prove him wrong, while in-universe he always gets proven wrong ?
Would you take seriously a character who in-universe get wronged ?
A character personality can be used be as evidence. If a character's personality is someone who gets mistaken a lot, then you can't believe what he says.
He needs SSJ to beat a Cell jr, while Piccolo can fend off against one.
How in the world does that equates to Base Vegeta > Piccolo ?
Because that's literature. Characters form the basis of the story. They move it along. You have the right to doubt a character by all means, but you cannot simply dismiss them because you don't believe them; that requires actual contradictory evidence, of which you have provided absolutely none. A character can lie 99 times, but the 100th time still needs to be proven to be a lie before we can validly call it one.

 Here's the problem with taking someone out of character...

It's not longer the character you're debating, it's your version of that character, not the character that was written.

It's like with the Gohan and Goten training stuff with people saying he went easy on Goten. Gohan was trained to never go easy on anyone, he's not going to kill his brother but since he was never stated or implied to go easy on him it means he never did.

or

The whole Post Zeta Sword Gohan's placement. It's within Goku's character to be blunt to the point about power statements, no matter who it is. Just watch Trunks' face when Goku tells Piccolo he's no where near Cell's level, Trunks looks very uncomfortable and looks like he's about to crap himself...he didn't realize Goku was so blunt and to the point. IT's like prior when he tells everyone he's inferior to Cell, Trunks is once again surprised at his bluntness.

But once you take away that character trait, it's taking him out of character and then the argument no longer holds up.

So I just re-read the fight and the whole time 18 was beating them without them able to land any real hits. They didn't last long until they had to turn into a Super Saiyan.
Exactly, they couldn't mange much so what was stopping her from ending the fight on the spot?

Do you think two Freeza's in a costume could manage any better against her?
Of course not, especially since Frieza is weaker than Android 18.
